KARACHI: SSP Malir Rao Anwar challenged suspension orders in Sindh High Court on Monday.
In his request, SSP Rao Anwar said that he did not break any law when he handcuffed and detained Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Khawaja Izhar ul Hasan.
He also claimed in the request that the suspension orders are illegal.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Friday had suspended SSP Malir Rao Anwar, saying that the SSP’s method was wrong.
Murad Ali Shah had said that the act of Khawaja Izharul Hasan’s arrest was wrong and after complete investigation of the incident, Rao Anwar would get punished.
CM Sindh also ordered replacement of all Malir SHOs.
Khawaja Izharul Hasan was released after five hours of detainment.
SSP Malir had reacted to the news saying that “it was not a big deal, these are routine things in police.”
He had said that the MQM leader was arrested under two cases, 16/378 and 16/374, registered in Site Superhighway police station.
