Sarfaraz, Imad and Hassan Ali are Pakistan’s positives from the ODI: Wasim

CARDIFF: They say ‘all is well that ends well’ but this doesn’t apply to the Pakistan Cricket team despite the convincing win in the last ODI against England, at least not in the books of former captain and ‘Swing Ka Sultan’ Wasim Akram.

Talking exclusively to Geo News after Pakistan’s four-wicket win at the Sophia Gardens, the former captain said that the win in last ODI will release pressure from team captain Azhar Ali.

“All is well, if end is well shouldn’t be applicable there but with the win in Cardiff, we have now realised that this team is capable of winning matches, and of chasing big totals as well,” said Wasim.

“We just need to bat sensibly, and need to built partnerships in middle,” the former captain added.

Wasim insisted that although Pakistan lost the series 4-1, there are still some positives for the team to pick and work further on.

“One of the positive aspects during the series was batting of Sarfaraz Ahmed, he has proved himself as a good and responsible batsman, he wants to finish the game and he showed it not only in ODIs but also in Test matches before the limited overs’ series,” he said.
