Pakistan’s political leadership on Monday put forward a united front on the issue of Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of parliamentary leaders yesterday to discuss the security situation with a special focus on the situation arising out of Indian troops’ unprovoked firing at the Line of Control (LoC) and the Indian army atrocities being committed in occupied Kashmir.

Tensions between the two border countries have mounted following an attack on a military base in Uri which killed 18 Indian soldiers and the killing of Kashmiri separatist Burhan Wani.

Following this India has violated the LoC agreement several times continuing unprovoked firing. On Thursday four Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom when Indian forces resorted to indiscriminate firing at the border.
