ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif Friday while appreciating the quick response of the armed forces to the Warsak attack said that timely and effective efforts had saved the loss of precious lives.
In a statement issued here, the minister strongly condemned the Mardan blast and said such cowardly acts of the state enemies could not weaken government’s resolve to root out the menace of terrorism.
Commenting on Line of Control (LoC) violations, he described that these violations were an attempt by India to deflect attention from atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
India will get a befitting response, he added.
A suicide bomber detonated himself at a Mardan courthouse, after first lobbing a hand grenade, killing at least 13 people and wounding 35 others on Friday.
Earlier to that, security forces valiantly thwarted another attack on a Christian colony in Peshawar that saw four terrorists blowing themselves up after being surrounded by forces personnel.
